Review: Make Up For Ever Rouge Artist Natural in Boheme

This lipstick was one of my online impulse buys. I have never tried a MUFE lipstick before and I was curious. The packaging is shiny plastic with “Make Up For Ever” on each of the surfaces. To be honest, it’s pretty cheap packaging. I would expect this kind of packaging from a drugstore brand (it actually reminds me of Maybelline lipstick I bought once in high school).

The color is a beige nude with pink shimmer. It is a sheer lipstick, I didn’t find it build-able since It didn’t apply evenly. It looks really pretty swatched on my arm but it’s much lighter on the lips. Also, My lips peel after wearing this lipstick, so this gets poor grades for moisturizing. It only wears for a couple of hours on my sensitive lips.

This lipstick does have the same fragrance and taste as standard drugstore lipstick, which I think it’s a huge negative for a higher end make up brand. Personally, I hate the taste of drugstore lipsticks, which is why I always opt for high end lip products.

Product Info:
$19 @ Sephora
It is a limited edition product
3.5g – Net wt. 0.12 oz

Pro:

  • Easy to wear color

Con:

  • Cheap Packaging

Bottom line: I would avoid this lipstick. You can find a similar color, finish and performance at the drugstore for much less.
